POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State volleyball concluded its 2019 season falling 3-1 to Montana on Saturday night in Reed Gym.
Senior
Brooke Pehrson ended her career on a high-note, leading the team with 16 kills, a .353 attacking percentage, four service aces, ten digs, and three block assists. Her three blocks in the match earned her a spot as ISU's All-Time block assist leader with 427.
Duquense Moratzka and
Taylor Meeks each secured 13 kills for the Bengals with
Raegan Steiner following with 10.
Andri Dewey recorded 51 of the team's 52 assists.
The Bengals came back from a seven point deficit at 12-5 to tie the first set at 19. The rest of the set would go back and forth before Montana went ahead at 31-20 to take a 1-0 lead. The extra-point set was the longest set the Bengals have played this season.
ISU was down in the second set until they took the lead at 17-16. Montana would come back at 19-18 but it wouldn't be enough as Idaho State took a second set 25-22 victory. Idaho State out-hit the Grizzlies .255 to .209 in the set.
In the third set, ISU held the lead until the Grizzlies went ahead at 8-7 and took it the rest of the way in a 25-17 set win. Montana would lead ISU by nine points during the set.Â
The fourth and final set was a fight between both teams. Idaho State was up 17-10 until Montana came back to tie the set at 24. The Grizzlies would eventually go ahead in a 29-27 set victory to win the match, 3-1.
