POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's basketball team plays at the Air Force Academy on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. It is the second straight Mountain West Conference opponent the Bengals will have played to open the season.

Scouting Air Force
Thursday night is the season opener for Air Force. The Falcons beat Colorado Christian in an exhibition game, 85-73 on Nov. 1. Lavelle Scottie returns for his senior season at Air Force. He was named to the Preseason All-Conference team after earning third-team all-league last year. Last year he averaged 15.3 points and 18 a game in Mountain West play. Air Force was picked eighth in the preseason polls. Last year, Air Force finished 14-18 and 8-10 in conference play.

Recapping Wyoming
The Bengals held Wyoming to 54 points but was only able to score 40.
Malik Porter led the way with nine points and eight rebounds. Idaho State shot 31.9 percent from the field and Wyoming shot 51.4 percent. Idaho State trailed 21-18 at halftime but was outscored 33-22 in the second half. Hunter Maldonado led the way for Wyoming with 32 points. Idaho State out rebounded Wyoming 32-28 but had 15 turnovers.
Exhibition Recap
Idaho State beat Eastern Oregon, 78-53 and Montana Tech 62-52 in two exhibition games. Against Eastern Oregon,
Chier Maker had 22 points and
Jared Stutzman scored 18.
Malik Porter added 11 points.
Chidi Udengwu had a team-best eight rebounds. The Bengals out rebouded EOU 43-29 and held them to 36 percent shooting from the field.
Tarik Cool had seven assists and no turnovers.
Against Montana Tech, Porter had 17 points and 13 rebounds. Cool had 16 points and Maker had 12. Montana Tech was held to 36 percent shooting and was out rebounded 42-29.
Nonconference Schedule
This year the Idaho State men's basketball team plays a nonconference schedule that consists of three schools from the West Coast Conference (Pepperdine, Santa Clara, Pacific), two from the Mountain West (Wyoming, Air Force), two Non Division 1 games (West Coast Baptist and Montana Western), one Pac 12 School (Washington State) and one Big West School (UCSB).
