POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's basketball team closes out the regular season on Thursday, March 7 vs. Eastern Washington and Saturday, March 9 vs. Idaho. Both games begin at 7 p.m. in Holt Arena.
Jerry Miller will call both games live on 102.5 KMGI with the pregame show starting 30 minutes prior to tipoff.
Next week the Bengals play in the Big Sky tournament in Boise at Century Link Arena. The Bengals will open the tournament on Wednesday, March 13. The time of the game and the seeding is still up in the air.
Scouting Eastern Washington
Eastern Washington is 12-17 and 10-8 in Big Sky Conference play. The Eagles average 71 points a game and shoot .421 percent from the field. Jacob Davison leads Eastern Washington in scoring at 15.2 points a game. Jesse Hunt scores 14.3 points and averages 8.5 rebounds a game. Mason Peatling scores 14.2 points a game and averages 7.5 rebounds.
In conference play Davison is averaging 18.5 points a game and shooting .471 percent from the field. Peatling is scoring 14.9 points and averaging 7.5 rebounds and Hunt is scoring 13.4 points and averaging 8.9 rebounds. Eastern Washington averages 74.4 points a game in league and shoots .446 percent from the field.

Recapping the 78-74 Win Over Weber state

Kelvin Jones made a season-high nine field goals on a season-best 16 attempts. His 10 rebounds tied his season-high.
- The Idaho State men's basketball team defeated Weber State 78-74 thanks to a combined 58 points from
Balint Mocsan,
Brandon Boyd and
Kelvin Jones.
- Mocsan scored 20 points on 7-16 shooting while Jones and Boyd each had 19 points. Jones was 9-16 from the field and had a game-high 10 rebounds while Boyd was 7-12 from the field and had four assists.
- Jones and
Chier Maker combined for 19 rebounds as Maker had nine. Jones had six offensive rebounds and two blocks while Maker had four offensive rebounds and three assists.
- Idaho State out rebounded Weber State 36-24 and had 14 offensive rebounds.
- The Bengals shot 47.7 percent from the field and 54.5 percent in the second half. Weber State shot 48.2 percent for the game.
- Idaho State was 9-25 from the three-point line and Weber State was 13-29.
- The game was close the entire 40 minutes as there were 12 lead changes and neither team led by more than nine points. The Bengals biggest lead was nine at 66-57 with 8:21 to play and Weber State's biggest lead was 45-39 with 15:35 to play in the game.
- Idaho State trailed 35-33 at halftime as the first 20 minutes saw seven lead changes and four ties. The Wildcats opened the second half by taking a 42-37 lead three minutes in and it was extended to six at 45-39 two minutes later.
- Idaho State took the lead for good at 56-55 following a tip in by Jones with 11:34 left in the game. A 3-pointer by Mocsan extended the lead to 66-57 with 8:21 to play and a minute later a Boyd layup put the Bengals on top 68-60.
- Neither team scored for the next four minutes. ISU maintained its lead at 70-62 with 2:55 to play. The Wildcats would cut it to 76-74 with seven seconds left but Boyd hit two free throws in the final seconds to preserve the win.
