Softball Set for Series at SUU

POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State softball team plays its final conference road game on April 26-27 vs. Southern Utah in Cedar City. Both days begin at 12 p.m. with the April 26 game set for a double header.  Live stats and video are available for all three games through isubengals.com.

Scouting SUU
Southern Utah is 5-28 and 3-9 in Big Sky Conference play.  SUU is hitting .270 as a team and the pitching staff boasts a 6.73 era.  Dream Weaver leads the offense with a .339 average and Madison Carr is batting .339.  Hanna Wynn has pitched a team-best 72.1 innings and has a 5.42 era.

Recapping Boise State
The Idaho State softball team lost at Boise State 5-3 and 8-0 in five innings. The Bengals are 15-24 and Boise State improved to 30-9.

In the 5-3 loss to Boise State the Bengals had eight hits but committed four errors in the field. Boise State scored its five runs on 10 hits.

Idaho State led 2-1 after the top of the fourth inning. Boise State then scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth and one in the fifth to lead 5-1. ISU added a run in the sixth inning.

Emma Bordenkecher was 2-3 with an RBI. Billie Jean Wells was 2-3 and scored one run and Jayden DeMoss was 2-3. MaKenzie Van Sickle was 1-3 with two RBIs.

Mailee Newman took the loss. She pitched the fourth and fifth innings and gave up four runs. Autumn Pease pitched the first three innings and allowed only three hits and one run. Mariah Mulcahy tossed the final inning.

In the 8-0 loss, Idaho State was held to two hits. Kelsea Sweeney took the loss by pitching the first innings and Mariah Mulcahy pitched the fourth inning.
