POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State volleyball kicks off their 2019 campaign this week at the University of Nebraska-Omaha Tournament. Over the course of the two-day tournament, the Bengals will compete in three matches against University at Albany (Aug. 30) at 9 AM (MST), Nebraska-Omaha (Aug. 30) at 6 PM (MST), and Abilene Christian (Aug. 31) at 7 PM (MST).
University at Albany
The University at Albany recorded a 16-10 overall record and went 10-3 in conference play during the 2018 season earning them a second-place finish in the America East Conference. They tallied 1,149 kills while averaging 11.8 kills per set. The Great Danes averaged 1.2 aces per set and 1.2 aces per set against. The totaled 1,564 digs over the season. Their match-up with Idaho State will be their first competition of the 2019 season.
Nebraska-Omaha
The University of Nebraska-Omaha recorded a 17-12 record during the 2018 season. The Mavericks compiled a 12-4 conference record earning them a third-place finish in the Summit League. They tallied 1,480 kills for an average of 13.2 kills per set while giving up a total of 1,311 kills and 11.7 kills per set over the season. The match-up with Idaho State will be their second competition of the 2019 season following their match-up vs. Abilene Christian.
Abilene Christian
Abilene Christian University recorded a 13-16 overall record and went 10-6 in conference play during the 2018 season earning them a fourth-place finish in the Southland Conference. They tallied 1,428 kills for an average of 12.1 kills per set while giving up an average of 13.4 kills per set. The match-up with Idaho State will be their third competition of the 2019 season following their match-ups vs. Omaha and Albany.
