Volleyball Preview: Washington State Tournament

POCATELLO, Idaho –
Idaho State volleyball travels to Pullman, Wash. to compete in the Washington State tournament Sept. 13-14.

The Bengals will face Washington State (Sept. 13) at 1 p.m. (MST), Liberty University (Sept. 13) at 6 p.m. (MST), and Texas-Arlington (Sept. 14) at 1:30 p.m. (MST). 

All matches will have Live Stats and Live Video. The Washington State match will also have Audio and can also be streamed through the Pac-12 Plus Facebook Page.

Washington State

Washington State is 5-1 to start the 2019 season. They defeated James Madison (3-0), Stony Brook (3-0), Utah State (3-1), Portland (3-0), and Idaho (3-0). They lost to Iowa (3-0). The Cougars average 12.9 kills per set with 9.2 against. Defensively, they average 15 digs per set and 2.6 blocks per set. The team also averages 2.1 service aces per set.  

Liberty

Liberty has a 4-2 record to start the 2019 season.  They defeated Elon (3-0), Virginia Tech (3-1), Davidson (3-0), and Virginia (3-0) and fell to Texas State (3-1) and Northern Iowa (3-1). The Lady Flames average 13.7 kills per set and 13 assists per set. They average a .271 attacking percentage. Defensively, they average 13.4 digs per set and 2.7 blocks per set.

UT Arlington

UT Arlington has a 4-2 record to start the 2019 season. They defeated Texas A&M (3-2), Houston (3-2), University of the Incarnate Word (3-0), Southern (3-0) and fell to LSU (3-0) and UNC Greensboro (3-2). The Mavericks average 11.4 kills per set and 9.5 against and average a .225 attacking percentage. Defensively, they average 11.1 digs per set and 1.8 blocks per set.
