POCATELLO, Idaho- In a game that had 12 lead changes and 10 ties, Montana State took down the Idaho State men's basketball team 75-64 on Saturday night in Reed Gym.
The game was tied at 51 with 9:37 left in the game. Montana State then went on a 7-0 run to take a 58-51 lead with 5:18 left remaining. Idaho State would get no closer than six points the rest of the way.
The Bobcats led by as many as 14 points in the final five minutes of the game.
Austin Smellie led Idaho State with 12 points while
Chidi Udengwu scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
Chier Maker had a team-best eight rebounds.
Idaho State shot 36.8 percent for the game while Montana State shot 49.1 percent. Idaho State was 13-18 from the free throw line while the Bobcats were 18-23.
Idaho State was out rebounded 38-32. The Bengals turned the ball over 15 times.
Idaho State returns to the court January 30 for a 7 p.m. contest at Northern Colorado.
