POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State women's tennis team lost 4-3 to the University of Seattle on Saturday afternoon in Boise, Idaho. The Bengals then lost 7-0 to Boise State on Sunday.
"It was a tough loss," Idaho State coach
Gretchen Maloney said following the loss to Seattle U. "We had some really tough battles and didn't quite come through in the third sets. We had our chances to win the doubles point and let it slip away. Overall it was a good day and the girls fought hard."
In doubles,
Hristina Cvetkovic and
Megan Poe defeated Hannah Gianan and Jade Lancaster6-0, 6-4. In singles play,
Melissa Coburn earned a 6-4, 6-1 win over Jillian Rasmussen.
Angela Walker earned a 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 win over Jade Lancaster and
Madison Fenske defeated Martina Asciuto 2-6, 7-5, 6-4.
Against Boise State,
Alexandra Arkhipov and
Angela Walker defeated Mae McCutcheon and Vanessa Timm 7-6 (7-3).
Idaho State hosts Lewis and Clark State and Colorado Mesa in Reed Gym on Jan. 31 and Feb. 2.
