POCATELLO, Idaho - The Idaho State men's basketball team fell to the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana on Saturday night 78-63.
Idaho State went 22-56 from the field including 5-17 from behind the three-point line and 14-19 from the free throw line. Montana finished the game 33-59 from the field, 6-16 from the three point arc and 6-6 from the free throw line.
The Bengals tied the game at six points two and a half minutes into the game. After that, the Grizzlies took the lead and didn't relinquish it for the rest of the game.
With 7:07 left in the game, Montana extended its lead to 18 points, the largest of the game. The Grizzlies maintained that for the rest of the game ending the game 78-63.
Austin Smellie and Jared Stutzman led the Bengals in scoring with 12 points each. Malik Porter and Chier Maker followed just behind with 11 points each.
Maker completed the double-double with 10 rebounds and 11 points on the night.
The Bengals are back home at Reed Gym next week hosting the University of Northern Colorado on Saturday, Feb 22.
