Bengals Take 71-55 Victory in Greeley

POCATELLO, Idaho-
Idaho State women's basketball defeated Northern Colorado, 71-55, on Saturday afternoon in Greeley, Colo.

ISU shot 50 percent from the field, scoring 30 points in the paint, 24 off fast breaks, and 20 off 21 UNC turnovers. The Bengals shot 40 percent from three.
 
Five Bengals scored in the double figures led by Callie Bourne with 19, Diaba Konate with 14, Montana Oltrogge with 11, and Dora Goles and Delaney Moore each with 11. Bourne's 19 points marked her 15th consecutive double digit game.
 
Konate recorded a career-high seven steals and a career-high eight boards. Her seven steals was just one shy from tying the all-time single game steal record.
 
Goles tied her career-high in assists with seven.

"I thought our energy was pretty good," said Head Coach Seton Sobolewski. "Especially our defense energy and following the scouting report and making plays."
 
ISU had a 14-7 lead on the Bears at the end of the first quarter after holding them to just 2-13 from the field and 0-7 from beyond the arc.
 
The Bears closed the ISU lead to three at 19-16 with four minutes left in the first half. The Bengals went on a 7-0 run over the next two minutes to take a 10 point lead, 26-16. Idaho State led 30-20 at halftime.
 
ISU shot 39 percent from the field, scoring 10 points in the paint and seven off of fast breaks in the first half. Bourne led with nine points, Goles finished with seven and four assists, and Konate totaled six points and four boards.
 
The Bengals took a 19 point lead, 50-31, in the third after Oltrogge sunk a three point shot. UNC went on a 9-3 run over the last three minutes to cut the lead to 12 at 53-40 before two made free-throws from Bourne ended the quarter in a 55-40 ISU lead.
 
ISU was 4-6 from the field and 2-2 from three the first five minutes in the fourth quarter to take a game high 23 point lead at 67-44. UNC put together 11 points in the last five minutes to cut the ISU lead to 16 to finish the game.

Idaho State is back in action on Feb. 27 against Portland State at 7 p.m. in Portland, Oregon.
