POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State men's basketball team lost 89-76 to Portland State on Thursday night in Reed Gym.
Portland State led for nearly the entire game and led by as many as 15 points in the second half.
Idaho State had four players score in double figures, led by 15 from
Chier Maker and
Tarik Cool.
Chidi Udengwu scored 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds while
Jared Stutzman had 11 points.
Idaho State turned the ball over 24 times, 17 in the first half. The Bengals out rebounded the Vikings 38-34.
Austin Smellie tied his career-high in rebounds with seven.
Idaho State trailed 43-32 at halftime would cut the Viking lead to 59-55 with 12:22 left in the game after a 3-pointer by Cool. The Bengals would get no closer the rest of the way.
Thursday was the final home game for seniors Stutzman, Maker, Udengwu and
Will Reichelt. The four were honored prior to the start of the game.
Idaho State closes out the regular season on the road at Weber State (March 2), Eastern Washington (March 5) and at Idaho on March 7.
