POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State softball kicks off its 2020 season in the UC Davis/Sacramento State Tournament on Feb. 7-9 in Sacramento, Calif.
The Bengals take on UC Santa Barbara (Feb. 7) at 10 a.m. (MST). On Feb. 8, ISU competes against Saint Mary's at 10 a.m. (MST) and Santa Clara at 12:30 p.m. (MST). Idaho State finishes its' season-opening weekend on Feb. 9 against Cal Baptist at 10 a.m. (MST) and UC Davis at 12:30 p.m. (MST).
UCSB
The Gauchos went 10-42 last season with a 4-17 record in the Big West. ISU last faced UCSB in 2010 in an 11-1 five-inning loss.
SMC
The Saint Mary's Gaels posted a 14-37 overall record while going 7-8 in the West Coast Conference last season. The Gaels and the Bengals matched-up twice last season with each team walking away with a victory. ISU defeated SMC 6-3 while the Gaels pulled away with a 7-3 victory last February.
Santa Clara
Santa Clara secured a 16-34 record in the 2018-19 season with an 8-7 record in the West Coast Conference. ISU is 4-4 in the all-time series against the Broncos with the last victory coming in 2016, 8-5.
Cal Baptist
The Lancers finished with a 21-33 record in their Division-1 inaugural season (2018-19), finishing 8-10 in the Western Athletic Conference. The game will mark the first time ISU and CBU have faced off.
UC Davis
The Aggies went 39-14 last season with a 13-8 Big West Conference finish. UC Davis leads the all-time series against ISU, 4-2. The Bengals have won the last two match-ups in 2017 (7-3) and 2019 (3-2).
