POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State women's tennis team lost a hard fought 4-3 match at Northern Colorado on Sunday in Greeley, Colo.
The difference in the match was the Bears winning the doubles points. Northern Colorado won the first two matches and once that was decided that doubles contest with
Megan Poe and
Adriene Pavek was called with the score tied at six.
In singles competition,
Alexandra Arkhipov beat Raffa Mora 6-4, 2-6, 6-3.
Megan Poe earned a 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 win over Madison Wolfe and
Angela Walker beat Sarina Chhabra, 6-3, 6-3.
"It was a tough weekend without our No. 1," Idaho State coach
Gretchen Maloney said. "The girls really battled today. We were down 0-3 and came back to tie it at 3-3 and we barely lost. I am really proud of their determination and grit today. Alex really stepped up at No. 1 both days and got some big wins for us."
Arkhipov also earned the lone win for Idaho State at Portland State on Saturday.
Idaho State hosts Montana on March 14 at 12 p.m. and NAU on March 18 at 2 p.m.
