POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's basketball team returns to the court on Sunday, January 17 for a 2 p.m. contest vs. Sacramento State in Reed Gym. The Bengals then host Yellowstone Christian College on Monday, January 18 at 2 p.m. Live stats, video and audio are available for both games. All games can be seen on Pluto TV channel 1061.

In the last 13 meetings vs. the Hornets (since 2014), the Bengals are 5-8 against Sacramento State. The Hornets have won the last three meetings. Prior to that the Bengals won three straight meetings.
This is the first meeting against Yellowstone Christian College.

Recapping Last Week
Idaho State won its third straight game by sweeping Norther Arizona last week in Flagstaff. The Bengals earned 73-69 and 76-70 victories. In the game 1 four-point win,
Tarik Cool led the Bengals with 20 points on 5-10 shooting and he was 10-11 from the free throw line. Robert Ford III added 17 points and
Daxton Carr scored 12. In the game 2 victory,
Austin Smellie had a career-high 24 points on 8-10 shooting. Idaho State shot 53.8 percent from the field in the victory.
Crashing the Boards
Idaho State has had success rebounding the basketball since
Ryan Looney has been head coach. This year his team is out rebounding opponents 36.4-27.9. ISU has out rebounded its opponents in 9 of 11 games this season. Last year the Bengals won the battle of the boards 32.9-32.1. Idaho State out rebounded teams in 15 of 30 games despite being undersized.
First Impressions
Robert Ford III has the made a good first impression as a Bengal. The 6-0 junior guard is first on the team in rebound at 7.2 boards a game and he has scored in double figures in 10 of the first 11 games. He had 10 points and 10 rebounds at Utah on Dec. 8. He also had seven boards vs. UC Davis. In the second game against SAGU Ford had 26 points on 8-8 shooting and a season-best 16 rebounds. In the two games at N. Colorado 14 points and 11 rebounds and 10 points and six rebounds.
Brayden Parker is second on the team in rebounding at 5.9 a game and he averages 11.1 points.
Bengal Bites
- This is the first time Idaho State has won three straight game since the 20017-18 season. That year the Bengals won four straight games at two different times in the season.
