POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State women's basketball team took down Weber State 72-53 on Saturday afternoon in Reed Gym.

Idaho State shot 47 percent from the field in the victory while holding WSU to just 33 percent shooting.
Diaba Konate led the Bengals with a season-high 18 points on 8-10 shooting.
Dora Goles followed with 16 points and
Ellie Smith finished with 12 points.

Callie Bourne led the Bengals on the boards with eight. Smith grabbed seven, and
Tomekia Whitman tied her season-high with five rebounds in the first half.

Just five minutes into the game, the Bengals took two double-digit leads at 13-3 and 15-5. They extended their lead to 12 at 17-5 before a 7-0 Wildcat run brought the score back to 17-12 with one minute left in the quarter. Back-to-back jumpers from Moore and Oltrogge gave the Bengals a 21-14 lead heading into the second quarter.

ISU went up 24-17 after a three-pointer from
Estefania Ors kicked off the second quarter. ISU took an 11 point lead, 28-17, after back-to-back layups from Goles and Konate. A 8-2 WSU run brought the spread back to five, 30-25, with two minutes left in the quarter. A three-pointer from Goles stopped the Wildcat momentum as the Bengals went on a 5-0 run of their own to bring it back to a double-digit lead, 35-25, heading into halftime.Â

The Bengals shot 47 percent from the field against the Wildcats 29 percent in the first half. Konate and Goles each added 10 points for ISU in the half.

Weber State started the third quarter on an 8-2 run, cutting the game to four at 37-33. ISU answered back with a 17-5 run, including a three-pointer from Oltrogge to give ISU a 54-38 lead to end the quarter.

Idaho State outscored Weber State 18-17 in the final quarter. The Bengals biggest lead of the game was the final score, 72-53.

The Bengals host Northern Arizona on Jan. 7 at 7 p.m. and Jan. 9 at 12 p.m.
