POCATELLO, Idaho – the Idaho State soccer team battled tough in Missoula, Sunday afternoon before falling 2-1 to the Griz.
The two teams battled back and forth for the initial 20 minutes of the match before both teams had an incredible burst of offense.
The Grizzlies scored first in the 19th minute of the match. Instead of wilting the Bengals immediately responded with a burst of offense. 28 seconds after the Montana goal the Bengals sent a cross into the box. Bengal Freshman Midfielder Peyton Dion went up and sent a header into the back of the net to tie the match 1-1.
The Griz were able to tack on another goal before the end of the half and take a 2-1 lead into halftime.
In the second half, the two teams continued to battle back and forth but neither team was able to add onto the lead and the match ended with the 2-1 Montana victory.
The Bengals head to Greeley on Tuesday at Noon to wrap up the season against Northern Colorado.
