POCATELLO, Idaho- Despite a season-high 20 points from
Malik Porter, the Idaho State men's basketball team lost 72-58 to the Kansas City Roos of the Summit League on Monday evening in Reed Gym.
Kansas City led for a majority of the game and held a lead as big as 16 points late in the game.
Porter scored his 20 points in 23 minutes off the bench. He was a perfect 8-8 from the field.
Brayden Parker and
Tarik Cool each scored 11 points. Idaho State shot 42.6 percent for the game while Kansas City shot 55.6 percent from the field.
Idaho State was out rebounded 30-25.
Daxton Carr led the Bengals on the boards with six. The Bengals had 15 turnovers and forced 12.
Idaho State trailed 33-26 at halftime. The Bengals got within four at 48-44 and 55-51 but each time Idaho State made a run Kansas City extended the lead.
The Roos were led in scoring by Evan Gilyard's 30 points on 13-17 shooting.
Idaho State is at Air Force on Saturday, November 27.
