Men’s Tennis Welcomes JW Altman from Texas

POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State Men's Tennis is excited to announce the commitment of JW Altman to join the program in the fall of 2022. An accomplished junior player from Wichita Falls, Texas, Altman is a two-time Texas high school state champion at Christ Academy.
 
"We are really thrilled to have JW joining the Bengal family here in Pocatello." said Head Coach Alexander Free. "JW is a tremendous athlete with big time potential to develop here at Idaho State and his energy and enthusiasm made him a top priority for us in this recruiting class. He is exactly the type of player we want to build our program and culture with here and we can not wait to get him on campus."
 
As a junior recruit, Altman won three Texas High School state team championships in addition to his two individual state titles at Christ Academy. A three-star recruit, Altman was ranked as high as #30 in Texas during his senior season and #284 in the US. In addition to his success on the court, Altman also lettered in basketball, track, and golf during his high school career.
 
"I am really excited about being a part of the Bengal tennis family," said JW Altman. "The team environment, the coaches, the team, and the direction of the program have me really pumped to come in and work hard to be a part of making Idaho State the best in the Big Sky Conference."
 
Altman is the first recruit in the Bengal's 2022 recruiting class and will join a team that currently has 7 freshman and sophomores on the roster.
