Bengals Fall at Cal

 
POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's basketball team lost 72-46 to Cal of the Pac 12 on Wednesday night at Haas Pavilion in Berkely, Callif. 

"We are feeling pretty beat up right now," Idaho State coach Ryan Looney said. "It has been a tough stretch and there a lot of things we need to do better."

Idaho State shot 28 percent for the game and was led in scoring by Robert Ford III 11 points. The Bengals were out rebounded 44-32 with Ford having a team-best four. Cal shot 47 percent from the field.

The game was close in the first half as Idaho State trailed 30-23 at halftime. Idaho State led 9-7 five minutes into the game after a Tarik Cool jumper.  The Bears took the lead for good at 12-9 eight minutes into the game. Cal led by seven points at two different times in the first half.

"In the first half I thought we competed and defended well," Looney said.

The Bengals trailed 31-28 after a three-pointer by Daxton Carr in the opening minute of the second half. Cal then went on an 18-2 run to lead 49-30 with 11 minutes left in the game.

Cal's biggest lead of the game was the final score at 72-46.

The Bengals have 10 days off before returning to the court on Dec. 18 for a 6 p.m. contest vs. Bethesda.
