Bengals Head to Bozeman to Face Bobcats

POCATELLO, Idaho – the Idaho State Bengal volleyball team is on the road this weekend to face the Montana State Bobcats in Bozeman, Mont. Game one will start at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20 and Game two on Sunday, Feb. 21 at 5 p.m.

Scouting Montana State

Montana State is 4-2 on the season and 4-2 in Big Sky Conference play.

The Bobcats are averaging 12.7 kills per set and a .245 hitting percentage.

On the defensive side, MSU is averaging 13.8 digs per set and 2.4 blocks per set.

MSU's Emma Pence leads the conference in hitting percentage with .394 and in blocks with 1.41/set.

The Bengals are #4 in the conference in kills with 405 total averaging 12.13/set.

Previous Series vs Northwest Nazarene

Game 1 – Box Score

The Idaho State volleyball team beat Northwest Nazarene 3-1 (25-21, 25-19, 20-25, 25-21) on Friday afternoon in Reed Gym.

ISU finished the afternoon with a .197 attack percentage. Kennedee Tracy had 17 kills while Sadie Gardner finished with 12.

Andri Dewey had 38 assists and five service aces.

In the first set the Bengals had five service aces to spark them to the victory.

Idaho State led for most of set two, with its biggest lead being 24-16 after a service ace by Danielle Devlin. The Bengals had an attack percentage of .419 in set two.

Idaho State played from behind most of set 3, falling behind 10-4 and 16-9 later in the set. The Bengals never led in the set.

The biggest lead of set 4 was an early 5-1 lead for the Bengals. Northwest Nazarene took a 13-11 lead but the Bengals came back to tie the game at 15 to take control of the match.

Game 2 – Box Score

The Idaho State Bengals defeated the Northwest Nazarene Nighthawks 3-2(25-21, 17-25, 30-28, 23-25, 15-9) Saturday night in Reed Gym.

The Bengals dropped the first set against the Nighthawks 25-21. Not giving up, the Bengals came back and won set 2 decisively 25-17. In set 2 the Bengals out hit NNU .290 to .200 with two Bengals scoring four kills apiece.

Set 3 required extra points to be decided. After trading points back and forth seven times, the Bengals clawed out a 30-28 set victory. The Bengals hit .211 in the set and were led by Tracy Kennedee's eight kills.

The Bengals dropped a close Set 4, 25-23, but still out hit the Nighthawks .190 to .143.

In the 5th set the Bengals hit the ground running and didn't look back. The Bengals hit .444 on nine-of-18 total attacks. The Bengals won the set, 15-9 and the match 3-2.

On the match, the Bengals outhit the Nighthawks, .220 to .190. Kennedee led the Bengals with 25 kills on 58 total attacks to hit .345 on the night. Two other Bengals recorded double-digit kills, Raegan Kunz had 13 and Danielle Devlin had 11.

The Bengals out dug the Nighthawks 83-81. Five Bengals recorded double-digit digs. Kennedee led the team with 20 digs, she was followed by Andri Dewey with 15. Mahala Bradburn had 14 on the night. Kunz also had 13 and Rachael Driskell had 12.
