POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's tennis team earned a 6-1 win over George Fox on Saturday morning in Boise, Idaho.
The Bengals earned the doubles point by sweeping all three matches.
Patrik Trhac and
Aleksander Petrovic picked up a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles, beating Will Leach and Luke Lemaitre.
Hiroki Fujita and
Robert Steinhauser earned a 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles, beating Camden Camacho and Hunter Fujimori.
At No. 3 doubles
Gary Rendek and
Jaime Castillo-Lopez beat Vahag Pashayan and Alle Banna 6-0.
In singles play, Petrovic earned a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 2 singles. At No. 3 singles, Fujita beat Camacho, 6-3, 6-2 and Steinhauser neat Pashayan, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 singles.
At No. 5 singles Castillo-Lopez won 6-1, 6-1 and
Wikus Robbertse won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 6 singles.
"This was a solid effort for our team today," Idaho State coach
Alexander Free said. "We've come up short a few times this year against some good teams and this is a great first step towards the success that we want to have as the season moves forward."
Idaho State returns to the court for a contest at Gonzaga on March 5 and Eastern Washington on March 6.
