Bengals Fall to Northern Colorado

POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State volleyball fell to Northern Colorado 3-0 (25-22, 27-25, 26-24) Sunday afternoon in Reed Gym.  

After a slow start, the Bengals clawed their way back to 22-24 after a 5-0 run late in the set, before finally falling to the Bears, 25-22.  

The second set was a battle, Idaho State tied Northern Colorado six times and pulled ahead at 25-24 after a service ace by Sadie Gardner.  The two teams battled to extra points before the Bears pulled out the 27-25 victory. 

Northern Colorado wrapped up their 3-0 victory in the third. Late in the set,  Idaho State took the lead 25-24 but UNC came back and for the second straight set won in extra points, 26-24.
In the match, the Bengals dominated the play at the net, out-blocking the Bears 12-3. Taylor Meeks led the team with six blocks, two of those solo. Kaia Rhodes followed just behind with five blocks. 
Mahala Bradburn led the team in digs with 12. 

The Bengals hit .167 on the night. Gardener led the team with 9 kills. 

The Bengals are back in action tomorrow night, Monday, March 1, at 6 p.m.
