POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State volleyball team fell to the Portland State Vikings 3-0 Friday afternoon in Portland.
The Vikings took set one 25-17. The Bengals started the match going up 5-2 before PSU pulled back to tie the game at 7-7. The two teams traded points until the Vikings would pull away for the set win.
The Bengals came out strong in the second set taking an early 7-2 lead. The Bengals would keep their lead through the 12th point before the Vikings would come back and tie it up at 13-13. The Bengals battled hard before PSU was able to pull away and win the 2nd set 25-20.
The Vikings won the 3rd set 25-13 and the match 3-0.
Taylor Meeks led the team with nine kills, one service ace and three blocks and a .412 hitting percentage. Kennedee Tracy followed with six kills.
Sadie Gardner led the team in digs with 10.
The Bengals and Vikings face off again tomorrow at 2 p.m. MDT in Portland.
