Idaho State Soccer Falls to Northern Colorado

| By:
Box Score POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State soccer team falls 1-0 to Northern Colorado Sunday afternoon at ICCU Practice Field.

"I thought the players executed the game plan brilliantly," said Head Coach Debs Brereton. "We asked them to try and match the intensity and focus they had in the second half of the last game and they did just that. To put together a complete performance like that is something we've been working on and hoping for, for quite some time."

In the first half, the Bengals came out strong and shut down the Bears offense only allowing Northern Colorado to get three shots on goal.

Idaho State and Northern Colorado were tied 0-0 going into the second half. The two teams battled through the half but the bears scored with 18 minutes left in the game off an own goal by Idaho State.

Makayla Wetsel ended the game with seven saves.

"We created more chances today I thought we look way more dangerous going forward, but it's just not quite there for us in the box," said Brereton. "Overall I am so proud of the players for applying themselves maximally and for the seniors as well. Every senior on the pitch was playing her heart out and I appreciate it so much."

The Bears outshot the Bengals 11-1.

Looking forward the Bengals head to Flagstaff, Ariz. to take on the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks in a two-game match-up Friday, March 26 at 1 p.m. and Sunday, March 28 at 12 p.m.
