POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's tennis team earned a 5-2 victory over Eastern Washington on Saturday afternoon.
The Bengals won the doubles point after
Patrik Trhac and
Aleksander Petrovic won 7-6 at No. 1 doubles.
Gary Rendek and
Jaime Castillo-Lopez won their doubles match at No. 3 7-6.
"Really proud of the way that our guys competed today," Idaho State coach
Alexander Free said. "It's always tough to win on the road against a conference team but the guys overcame a slow start in doubles and then dominated early in singles. We're looking forward now to a great week of practice before a tough match next weekend."
In singles play Trhac won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles and Petrovic earned a 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles.
Jaime Castillo-Lopez won 6-2, 6-4 at No. 4 singles while
Wikus Robbertse picked up a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles.
Idaho State plays Air Force on March 13 in Salt Lake City.
