Men's Tennis Set to Host Two Home Matches

| By:

POCATELLO, Idaho - The Idaho State University men's tennis team hosts two matches at home this weekend. On Friday, April 2 at 2 p.m. the Bengals take on Air Force Academy followed by a match on Sunday, April 4 against University of Montana at 11 a.m.

The Bengals are scheduled to play outdoors in both matches with spectators allowed. Fans can attend the match located at the Capell Park tennis courts in Chubbuck, Idaho.

After the March 13 scheduled match between the Bengals and Air Force was canceled due to weather conditions, the match moved to this weekend for the two teams to have another shot to compete against one another. Air Force is 4-7 overall with a three match losing streak going into the match with the Bengals.

The last matchup between ISU and the University of Montana was during the 2019 season. The match this year will not count towards conference standings due to the split divisions. Montana is 6-8 overall and 0-1 in the North Division of Big Sky Conference Play.

"It's really great for our team to have two home matches this weekend," said Head Coach Alexander Free. "Having Air Force and Montana here is going to create a great tennis atmosphere and really engage the Pocatello tennis community. We see this as just another step in the process to being one of the best teams at the end of the season and hope that Pocatello will come out and support the Bengals on our home courts this weekend."
