Bengals Fall to Boise State

 

POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State softball team lost 8-2 to Boise State on Wednesday afternoon at Miller Ranch Stadium.

The Broncos led the entire game, scoring three runs in the first inning on six hits. BSU pounded out 14 hits and committed two errors while the Bengals were held to four hits.

Angelica Cano put the Bengals on the board in the third inning with a home run. Boise State would add two runs in fourth and one in the sixth to lead 6-1.

Rheanne Lewis led off the bottom of the sixth inning with an infield single and she advanced to second on a Boise State error. Lewis was moved to third when Morgan Hess reached base on an error by the pitcher. Lewis scored the run on an infield single by Frankie Tago.

The Broncos tacked on two runs in the top of the seventh to take the 8-2 lead.

Idaho State returns to Miller Ranch Stadium on April 24-25 for a three-game series vs. Montana. Saturday's doubleheader starts at 12 p.m. while Sunday's single-game also begins at 12 p.m.
