POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State men's tennis defeated Sacramento State 6-1 on Friday afternoon in Reed Gym. Idaho State now advances to the Big Sky Conference Championships in Phoenix, Ariz on Saturday, May 1.
The game clinching match came at No. 4 singles when
Hiroki Fujita beat Liam Liles of Sac. State 7-5, 6-1.
The Bengals also earned the doubles point thanks to wins by
Patrik Trhac and
Aleksander Petrovic at No. 1 doubles and
Gary Rendek and
Jaime Castillo-Lopez at No. 3 doubles. Both won by a score of 6-4.
The Bengals also earned wins at No. 2, No. 3, No. 5, and No. 6 singles. Petrovic beat Legaspi 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 and Castillo-Lopez defeated Michael Vizcarra 6-1, 2-6, 6-2. Then Rendek beat Jan Silva 6-2, 6-3 and
Wikus Robbertse beat Rudolfs Aksenoks 6-4, 2-6, 1-0.
