POCATELLO, Idaho - The Idaho State Bengals comeback effort fell just short Sunday afternoon in a 4-2 loss to the University of Montana.
Montana took the lead first, going up 4-0 in the third.
The Bengals responded with a sac fly by Isabel Cargill to bring in Emma Bordenkecher and make the game 4-1.
The Bengals didn't give up and Amber Arreola, continuing her strong offensive weekend, got her sixth RBI of the series after singling to center field and brining in Angelica Cano.
The Bengals held off multiple rallies by the Lady Griz to keep the score heading into the bottom of the seventh. ISU was unable to bring the needed runs in and the game ended 4-2.
Emma McMurray in five innings allowed 12 hits but only allowed four runs with one strike out. Mareena Ramirez pitched two innings for the Bengals and allowed three hits and zero runs.
The Bengals are back in action Wednesday, April 28 when they head to Salt Lake City to play a doubleheader against the University of Utah. First Pitch is set for 2:00 p.m.
