Soccer Welcomes Westminster for Early Season Matchup

POCATELLO, Idaho – Idaho State soccer is set to face off against the Westminster Griffins of Salt Lake City, Sunday afternoon.

The Bengals are coming off of a hard-fought 0-0 2OT tie against Utah State and are looking to rebound and pick up their first regular-season win.

Series vs Westminster

Tomorrow will mark the third time the two programs have faced off with a 1-1-1 series history. In the spring, the Bengals and Griffins battled to a 0-0 tie in Salt Lake.

The Griffins were picked fourth in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference preseason poll after finishing the 2021 spring season 6-2-3.

The Griffins made it to the RMAC championship in the spring season and ended their season with a 2-2 tie against Colorado State University – Pueblo.

Previous Match – Utah State

The ISU soccer team played their first game of the season against the Aggies of Utah State Thursday night. The match marked the first official game played on Davis Field post renovation.

After ninety minutes of furious back-and-forth play, the score was still dead even at 0. Extra time was full of exciting shots from both teams, but neither team could find the back of the net.
