Bengals Host Idaho Saturday in Battle of the Domes

POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's basketball team hosts the University of Idaho on Saturday, January 15 at 6 p.m. in Reed Gym in the ICCU Battle of the Domes. Dylan Carder and Tai Wesley will call the game on ESPN + while Jerry Miller will call the game on KISU. 

Since Feb. of 2018, Idaho State has won six of the last meetings with the only loss being 80-76 in Moscow on March 7, 2020. 

For the rest of January Idaho State is set to play seven games in the next 14 days. COVID postponments forced games Weber State to be rescheduled to Jan. 17 at 7 p.m. in Reed Gym and the Eastern Washington game will now be played Jan. 24 at 7 p.m.

About Idaho
Idaho is 3-10 and 0-3 in Big Sky play. The Vandals play at Weber State on Thursday before traveling to Pocatello. Idaho is scoring 74.5 points as game and giving up 81.9. The Vandals shoot .425 from the field and opponents shoot .476 percent. Idaho shoots .38 percent from the three-point line and 73.8 percent from the foul line. 

Crashing the Boards 
Idaho State has won the battle of the boards each season with Ryan Looney has head coach. Last season ISU out rebounded opponents 36.1-29.9. In the 2019-20 season the Bengals out rebounded teams 32.9-32.1. In the season opener vs. Eastern Oregon, the Bengals won the rebounding battle, 35-28.

Through 14  games opponents are outrebounding ISU 33.6-31.1 this year.

- Malik Porter had five rebounds or more in 12 games last year. Last year he scored in double figures in 15 games. 
- Austin Smellie has 29 double figure scoring games in his career. 
- Robert Ford III has scored in double figures in 18 games during his career at Idaho State. He has five rebounds or more in 19 games. 
- Brayden Parker has scored in double figures in 17 games in his career and has five rebounds or more in 16 games. 
- Tarik Cool has played 30 minutes or more in every game but the Bethesda and Montana State games.
