POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State men's basketball lost to Northern Colorado 77-70 on Monday night in Greeley, Colo.
Idaho State shot 46.2 percent from the field and made nine 3-pointers on 22 attempts.
Jared Rodriguez had a career-high 27 points on 10-15 shooting. He was 5-7 from three-point line and grabbed five rebounds.
Liam Sorensen had 12 points.
Idaho State was out rebounded 33-25 and allowed UNC to shoot 50 percent from the field.
"I am not disappointed at all with what we did offensively," Idaho State coach
Ryan Looney said. "I am more disappointed with our defensive effort in the first part of the second half. Once these guys make shots they are tough."
Idaho State led for a majority of the first half and led by as many as eight points at 30-22 with three minutes left until halftime. The Bears then outscored Idaho State 12-2 to lead 34-32 at halftime.
Idaho State fell behind by as many as 16 points at 64-48 with six minutes left in the game. Idaho State then went on a 15-4 run to cut the Bear lead to 68-63 with 1:17 left in the game following a Rodriguez 3-pointer.
Idaho State would get no closer the rest of the way. Idaho State plays at NAU on Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. and at Portland State on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 8 p.m. (MST).
Idaho State then returns home to host SUU on March on Senior Day.
