POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's basketball team lost 73-69 in overtime to Portland State on Saturday night at Viking Pavilion in Portland, Ore.
Idaho State shot 44 percent from the field while the Vikings shot 41 percent. Idaho State was 5-22 from the three-point line. Portland State was 19-30 from the free throw line while the Bengals only attempted 17, making 12.
Idaho State out rebounded Portland State 46-30 and they had 23 turnovers to only nine by PSU.
Tarik Cool led ISU with 14 points.
Malik Porter had 13 and
Jared Rodriguez had 10 points and 10 rebounds
Idaho State led 34-24 at halftime and maintained the lead until the final four minutes of the game when Portland State took a 52-51 lead.
The Vikings led 60-58 when
Liam Sorensen connected on a layup with 1:16 left in the game to tie the contest. Neither team would score the final minute of regulation.
Idaho State led 68-65 with 1:18 left in overtime after basket by Porter. PSU would outscore ISU 8-1 in the final minute to earn the victory.
Idaho State closes out the regular season on Thursday, March 3 vs. SUU. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. Seniors
