Bengals Fall 5-2 at Utah

POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State women's tennis team picked up wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles on Friday evening in Salt Lake City vs. the University of Utah.

At No. 5 single singles Leah Kuruvilla earned a 1-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-6) win over Madeline Lamoreaux. Alexandra Arkhipov won 6-4, 6-3 at No. 6 singles over Katya Hersh.

The Bengals lost the match 5-2, as the Utes took the doubles point and earned wins at positions 1-4 on singles.

"We had some good wins today," Idaho State coach Gretchen Maloney said. "At number one doubles the girls really played smart and battled with a tough team. Leah came back after losing the first set and made some adjustments to pull out the win. Alex played clean and had smart shot selection."

Idaho State plays at Utah State on Saturday at 11 a.m.
