POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State women's tennis team is onto the semi-finals of the Big Sky Conference Championship for only the fifth time since 2000.
The Bengals defeated the University of Idaho 4-1 on Thursday morning in Phoenix, Ariz.
"The team was on fire today," Idaho State coach
Gretchen Maloney said. "They had all their game plans dialed in. In doubles, they dominated the net and in singles they were able to make strategic adjustments when necessary."
Idaho State won the doubles point thanks to 6-0 victories by
Leah Kuruvilla and
Sol O'Lideadha at No. 2 doubles and Alexandra Arikhipov and
Megan Lang-Gould at the No. 3 position.
Idaho State earned the match victory thanks to a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles by
Lola O'Lideadhas.
At No. 5 singles, Kuruvilla won 1-6, 6-0, 6-0 and at No. 6 Arkhipov won 6-0, 6-1.
Idaho State plays No. 2 seed NAU on Friday morning at 9 a.m.
