POCATELLO, Idaho – Idaho State women's basketball has announced the addition of Nika Lokica for the 2022-23 season. Nika comes to the team from Split, Croatia where she has played for multiple clubs and her national team.
"Nika is a great late addition to our team," said Head Coach Seton Sobolewski. "She is a very talented and very successful player out of Croatia. Her experience as the starting point guard for the Croatian national team will put her in a position to make an immediate impact."
In 2016, Lokica was named the Junior Cadet Championship of Croatia MVP and finished third in the Slovenia u14 competition.
In the 2017-18 season, Lokica was the vice-champion of the youth cadet championship and was named a captain while also ranking top-five and best scorer.
In 2020, Lokica entered the Premier league, where, playing for the U19 team averaged 17.5 ppg, 6 assists and 7 rebounds.
In 2021, Lokica earned her first call up to the senior national team and a call up to the U20 national team. In her last season in the Premier league she averaged 14.9 ppg, 5.8 assists and 7.7 rebounds.
