POCATELLO, Idaho – Idaho State soccer returns to the field to open the 2022 regular season on Thursday, Aug. 18 at 6:00 PM at Davis Field. The Bengals will face off against the Westminster Griffins in the first official game of the 2022 season for the Orange and Black.
The match will be broadcast on ESPN+ with Dylan Carder and KISU 91.1. with Brandon Baney Live Stats will also be provided for the match.
Quick Scout – Westminster Griffins
·        This is the third season in a row that the Bengals and Griffins will meet.
·        Westminster is coming off of a 2021 season that saw the Griffins go 10-3-5 and 7-2-3 in conference.
·        In 2021, the Griffins made it to the NCAA Tournament, before falling 3-2 in Overtime to Angelo State in the first round.
·        The Griffins return their No. 1 producer, #10 Alexa Maple. Maple scored eight goals in 2021 with 64 shots and 21 points, with 28 shots on goal.
·        The Griffins bring back their keeper, Kelsea Cracroft, in 2021 Cracroft allowed only 12 goals, a 0.80 Average and finished the season with 56 saves for a .824 percentage.
Big Sky Opener
The Bengals will play in eight matches before the start of 2022 Big Sky Conference play. After Westminster, the Orange and Black head out for a month-long road trip. On Sept. 18, Idaho State heads to Cheney, WA to face the EWU Eagles in the first conference match of the season.

Next Up at Home
After Westminster, the Bengals return home Sunday, Sept. 18 as the Gonzaga Bulldogs come to Pocatello for an afternoon match at Davis Field at 1:00 PM. It will be the ninth meeting of the two programs in team history and the fifth time the Bulldogs have come to Pocatello.
