POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State soccer team fought to a draw with the Austin Peay Governors Friday evening in Nashville. This is the first of two games that the Bengals are playing in Tennessee this weekend.
Coach Downey's Thoughts
"I thought the team was really gritty tonight in our efforts," remarked head coach Dustin Downey. "We looked like a team that was ready to go up against anyone on any occasion, and as a coach that was really exciting for me to witness and be a part of.
Overall a lot of strong performances on the field tonight, but we are just missing that last little bit of detail and cleanliness in parts of our game, and those little details are the difference in what the result is when the ref blows the final whistle.
So, we'll take the draw, and focus our attention now on a very good Lipscomb team, and prepare the best we can for another tough match on Sunday!"
The Bengals were able to get three shots on goal and keep pressing all 90 minutes.
