Box Score Missoula, MT- The Bengals men's basketball team went up against the University of Montana Grizzlies Saturday night, losing the contest 84-55. The Bengals fall to 6-12 on the season & 3-2 in Big Sky Conference play. After the win Montana moves to 9-9 on the year & 3-3 in conference play.
The Grizzlies came out of the gates firing, extending their first half lead to 16 points with four minutes remaining and making seven first half three-pointers. The Bengals went into the halftime break trailing by 14, 42-28. The second half we saw Montana control the pace of play and do more of the same from the first half as Montana went on to defeat the Bengals with a final score of 84-55.
Jay Nagle was the Bengals lone scorer in double-digits on the evening finishing with 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the field and 2-of-5 from the three-point land.
Miguel Tomley tallied eight points, two rebounds, and one steal and
Maleek Arington had eight points, a season high four rebounds, one steal, and one assist off the bench.
Idaho State shot 33.9 percent from the floor Saturday night and 25 percent from deep making 6-of-24 shots from three-point land. The Bengals tallied 10 assists, 24 rebounds, and 5 steals. Montana finished with 54.9 percent shooting from the field and 48.1 percent from deep making 13-of-27 attempts.
Idaho State men's basketball will be returning home from their three-game road trip this week for their clash with the Sacramento State Hornets in Reed Gym this Thursday, January 19
th at 7 p.m.
