Bengals Fall at Weber State

OGDEN, UT– The Idaho State women's tennis squad finished off their road trip this weekend as they traveled to Ogden, Utah to face off against conference rivals, the Weber State Wildcats. The Bengals came up short against the Wildcats as they lost the match, 5-2. After the match the Bengals will drop to 8-7 on the season and 3-2 in Big Sky Conference play, now sitting at 4th in the conference standings.

In the Bengals match Sunday morning with the Wildcats, Idaho State started the match off unable to secure the doubles matches point as they fell in the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches, the lone win in the doubles matches coming from the No. 3 doubles team of Sydney Morris and Megan Lang-Gould, winning 6-4. Heading into the singles matches trailing 0-1 the Bengals looked to respond; however, they did not get much going as they dropped the No. 1, No. 2, and No. 4 singles matches to begin and Weber State clinched the match as they led the Bengals 4-0. In the remainder of the match Sol O'Lideadha pulled out a tough win for Idaho State in the No. 3 singles match as she won in three sets 1-6, 7-5, 6-4, and Stefanya Shalakhova in the No. 5 singles match grinded out another difficult win for Idaho State 5-7, 6-1, 10-5. Leah Kuruvilla was in a battle in the No. 6 singles match as she fell in three sets 6-2, 2-6, 8-10. The Bengals wound up dropping the match 5-2.

The Bengals will return home from their eight-match road trip as they host their final two home matches of the season, taking on Sacramento State on Friday afternoon at 1 PM and #67 Northern Arizona on Sunday at noon in Reed Gym.
