POCATELLO, Idaho- The Bengal soccer team wrapped up their first two conference matches on Thursday and Sunday as they hosted Eastern Washington and Idaho.
In the match versus Eastern Washington, we saw the Bengals down the Eagles 3-2. EWU opened the scoring with a goal in the 21
st minute. However, the Bengals responded loudly with a
Saydree Bell goal in the 27
th minute and a
Kaylyn Buchanan goal to take the lead just 68 seconds later. The Bengals took a 2-1 lead in the half and looked to keep up the same pace in the second half. In the 73
rd minute
Kaylyn Buchanan scored her 6
th goal of the season and second of the match to put the Bengals up 3-1. Eastern Washington was able to net another goal in the 76
th minute, but could not complete the comeback and the Bengals locked up their first victory over the Eagles in eight year and begin Big Sky conference play 1-0 for the first time since the 2017 season. Forward,

Saydree Bell finished with one goal off of two shots on goal,
Isabella Winton had two assists, and two shots on goal, and
Rachel Fullmer and
Marta Nieto both finished with one assist apiece. In goal for the Bengals was
Kelsey Jargstorf. Jargstorf finished with seven saves in her third win of the season.
On Sunday afternoon the Bengals took on the Idaho Vandals. The Bengals and Vandals went into the halftime break with UI leading 2-0. After the break the Vandals put home two more goals to extend their lead to 4-0, and that proved to be the final score.
Kelsey Jargstorf was in goal for 73 minutes for the Idaho State, making six saves and allowing four goals, suffering her fourth loss in goal this season (3-4).
Saydree Bell finished with 4 shots and shots on goal in 59 minutes and
Meagan Tamashiro had two shots on goal in 43 minutes.
