BOZEMAN, Montana- The Bengal volleyball team finished up their first two conference matches where they hosted the Portland State Vikings and traveled to Bozeman, Montana to face off against the Montana State Bobcats.
In the match against PSU, we saw the Bengals fall to the Vikings in four sets, 3-1 (22-25, 25-20, 18-25, 22-25).
Jamie Streit led the way for Idaho State in this match, finishing with 16 kills, while
Sadie Bluth and
Meline Robarge were right behind her, finishing with ten and nine kills.
Lauren Mena and
Aliyah Sopo'aga led the way in assists, Mena finishing with 25 and Sopo'aga finished with 20. On the defensive end for Idaho State
Marci Richins had four blocks and
Peyton Michaelson had three.
Jamie Streit led the way with 16 digs and
Lily Liekweg finished with 13.
For the second match on the weekend the Bengals took on the Bobcats in Bozeman. In this match the Bengals fought hard, but fell in straight sets 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-15).
Sadie Bluth and Jamie Striet led the team with nine kills each followed by
Meline Robarge who had eight kills.
Aliyah Sopo'aga and
Lauren Mena worked double duty on the assists today as each end with 17 assists. On the defensive end for Idaho State
Aliyah Sopo'aga had 10 digs and libero,
Lily Liekweg, had seven.
Idaho State volleyball will be back home for a three-game homestand as this Thursday, September 27th they host Eastern Washington and on Saturday September 30th the Idaho Vandals come to town.
