Sacramento, California - That #2 seed was anything but a fluke. The Bengals belong with the best.
After a convincing 3-1 win over #7 Northern Arizona, Idaho State Volleyball has advanced to the semifinals of the Big Sky Conference Tournament, collecting their first postseason win since 2018 in the process.
Tonight, in prime time once again, the Bengals will face the only squad in the tournament playing on their home turf: #3 Sacramento State.
The host Hornets are coming off a strong opening win of their own, defeating #6 Portland State 3-1 in the final match of the evening last night.
Speaking of 3-1 scores, ISU notched a regular season sweep in two matches with the hornets, winning in a pair of 3-1 contests in Reed Gym in late October and on the road in Sacramento.
A Bengals win tonight would mark the first 3 match sweep over a conference opponent since 2014, when the orange and black defeated NAU and Southern Utah twice each in the regular season and again in the tournament.
The match tips off on ESPN+ at 8:00 PM MT. The winner will advance to the conference championship and face the victor of #1 Northern Colorado vs. #4 Weber State
