Stephenville, Texas – The Idaho State Bengals split day one of the 2024 Whataburger Invitational hosted by Tarleton University. The Bengals move to 7-1 on the year, continuing one of the best starts in Idaho State Softball history.
Idaho State defeated Buffalo 4-0 and fell to Host Tarleton State 5-2 in the pair of games.

Notes
· Four Bengals hit +.500 on the first day of the tournament. Ava Brown, Gracie Smith and Madison Muxen all hit .500. Piper Tago hit 1.00 with two hits on two at bats including an RBI double in the win over Buffalo.
· Taylor Fitzgerald earned the Bengals third shutout win of the season, only allowing two hits against Buffalo.
· The Bengals hit .298 as a team while holding opponents to a .128 average. Once again showing the defensive strength of the squad.
· Five Bengals hit doubles day one, battling extremely strong winds pushing straight onto the field from the outfield wall, the Bengals still found extra-base hitting opportunities.
· Gracie Smith has now recorded a hit in every single game for the Bengals this season, extending her streak to eight games.
· The Bengals have now hit 42 RBIs to opponents 14
