POCATELLO, Idaho - The Idaho State Bengals dropped two games in Arizona Saturday afternoon. The First a 4-1 loss against Texas State and the second, an exciting extra innings pitching battle against hosts Arizona State.
In the second game of the day, the Bengals took Arizona State to extra innings before falling 5-1. The Score was not indicative of the Battle from the Bengals as Idaho State intentionally loaded the bases and ASU hit a walk-off grand slam.
Taylor Fitzgerald had a great game in the circle for the Bengals pitching a complete 7.1 innings. Fitzgerald allowed seven hits and three strikeouts. She threw three walks, but two were intentional at the end of the game to load the bases to set up force outs at every base.
The Bengals scored their lone run of the game in the fourth off of a
Skyler Sethman RBI double.
Besides that run, both teams were held to a 1-1 score until the bottom of the eighth inning.
