Bengals Back On the Pitch

POCATELLO, Idaho – Idaho State soccer returns to the pitch to open the 2024 regular season on Thursday, Aug. 15th at 7:00 p.m. in Fort Collins, CO as they take on Colorado State at the CSU Soccer Field. Following this match, they will be playing at the University of Denver in Denver, CO on Sunday Aug. 18th at 1 p.m. The Bengals will be looking for their first win in school history versus both of these programs, as Idaho State is 0-2 all-time against Colorado State and 0-1 vs. the Pioneers.

 
Quick Scout – Colorado State Rams
  • Colorado State is coming off of a 2023 season that saw the Rams go 12-6-4 and 6-3-2 in conference.
  • The Rams return their top producer, #18 Olivia Fout. Fout scored 12 goals in 2023 with 47 shots and 27 points, with 28 shots on goal.
  • The Rams bring back their keeper, #30 Shayna Ross, in 2023 Ross started all 22 games for the team. Allowing just 23 goals, a 1.04 average and finished the season with 77 saves for a .770 percentage.

Quick Scout – Denver Pioneers
  • Denver finished their 2023 season with a 9-2-7 overall record and 5-1-2 conference record.
  • The Pioneers return one of their top producers, #28 Liv Moritz. Moritz scored seven goals in 2023 with 29 shots and 18 points, with 19 shots on goal.
  • The Pioneers bring back their keeper, #1 Molly Wissman, in 2023 Wissman started all 18 games for the team. Allowing 22 goals, a 1.21 average and finished the season with 39 saves for a .639 percentage.

Big Sky Opener

The Bengals will compete in nine matches before the start of 2024 Big Sky Conference play. The Orange and Black play three away games to start the season before returning home to host Oregon State for their first home match of the season. On Sept. 29th, Idaho State hosts the University of Northern Colorado Bears in their first conference match of the season.

 
Next Up at Home

The Bengals home opener will be on Wednesday, Aug. 28th as the Oregon State Beavers come to Pocatello for an evening match at Davis Field at 6:00 p.m. It will be the 2nd ever meeting between the two programs. The first coming all the way back in 1998 when the Beavers defeated the Bengals 1-0 in Corvallis, OR.
