POCATELLO, Idaho – Idaho State volleyball will be opening up their regular season with their Idaho State Tournament. This year the Bengals will be hosting the Seattle U Redhawks, San Diego State Aztecs, and Cal State Northridge Matadors.
The Tournament will begin Friday, August 30
th with CSUN vs. Seattle U at 4 p.m. and SDSU vs. Idaho State at 7 p.m. Following the Bengals game against the Aztecs the players will be signing autographs and team posters will be available for fans. On Saturday, August 31
st SDSU will play CSUN at 1 p.m. and Seattle U will play Idaho State at 4 p.m. The final day of the tournament, Sunday, Sept. 1
st, SDSU will go up against Seattle U at 10 AM followed by CSUN vs. ISU at 1 p.m.

- SDSU opens their 2024 season following a 9-20 overall record in 2023 and 4-14 record in conference play.
- During their lone exhibition match this year the Aztecs defeated UC San Diego 3-2.
- The Aztecs return their two leaders in kills from last season, Taylor Underwood (334) and Madison Corf (213).
- San Diego State brings back both of their top setters, Fatimah Hall (627) and Sarena Gonzalez (509).
- The Aztecs return top defensive player, McKenna Douglas, who led the team with 398 digs last season.
- San Diego State will return two of their four top blockers from last year, Taylor Underwood (38) and Madison Corf (34).

- SU opens their 2024 season following a 8-19 overall record in 2023 and 3-13 record in conference play.
- During their exhibition match the Redhawks swept Seattle Pacific 3-0.
- The Redhawks return their leader in kills from last season, Arianna Bilby (345).
- Seattle U brings back their top setter, Elif Teksoy (863).
- The Redhawks return their 3 top defensive players, Katlyn Sipes, who led the team with 294 digs last season, as well as Merima Smajlovic (254) and Arianna Bilby (252).
- Seattle University will return their top blocker from last year, Marley Hardgrave, who finished 2023 with 78 blocks.
Quick Scout – Cal State University Northridge
- CSUN opens their 2024 season following a 6-23 overall record in 2023 and 4-14 record in conference play.
- The Matadors return one of their top players in kills from last season, Leah Miller, who finished last year with 260 Kills.
- Cal State Northridge brings back setter, Taylor Dunlap, who finished 3rd on the team last season in Assists with 253.
- The Matadors return one of their top defensive players, Paige Sentes, who finished 2023 with 234 digs.
- CSUN will be difficult to score against at the net, returning 3 of their top 4 blockers from last year. Leah Miller (56), Tatiana Turgeon (55), and Iye Okolo (53).
Looking Ahead
Following the Bengals' home tournament to open their regular season, ISU will compete in the UC Irvine/Adidas Invitiational in Irvine, California with host UC Irvine, as well as the University of Portland and Bradley University.
