Bengal Soccer Prepares for First 2 Regular Season Matches

POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State soccer team kicks off their 2025 season with a pair of home matches. The first this Thursday, August 14^th at 7 p.m. vs. Utah Valley, and the second on Sunday, August 17^th also at 7 p.m. against Boise State.

This will be the 14^th-ever meeting between Idaho State and Utah Valley, Idaho State's record in the series is 4-7-2, with their last win over Utah Valley coming in 2009. Against UVU at home, Idaho State is 3-4-0 All-Time. Last season Idaho State would fall 0-6 to Utah Valley in Orem, UT.

ISU is 8-13-2 All-Time vs. Boise State, and have not defeated the Broncos since 2013. The Bengals hold a 5-3-1 record against BSU when playing at home. Last season Idaho State would fall to Boise State in Boise, 1-3.

• The Wolverines return their top-4 goal scorers from a season ago, including their leading scorer and 2024 WAC Player of the Year, #2 Faith Webber, who finished last season with 18 goals scored
• UVU also returns second leading goal scorer and 1^st Team All-WAC player, #8 Ruby Hladek, who finished last year with 5 scored goals
• Utah Valley looks to anchor on #00 Leah Wolf in the back, as she played in 10 matches last season, starting in 2. Wolf has played in 28 career matches for UVU

Quick Scout – Boise State Broncos (0-0-0)

• The Broncos return their 3^rd leading goal scorer from a season ago, #4 Avery McBride. McBride was a 2024 United Soccer Coaches Women's All-Pacific Region Second Team selection, and scored 6 goals and 27 total points for BSU last season
• BSU also returns #20 Jillian Anderson who was 4^th on the team in goals scored in 2024, with 5. Anderson was named to the 2024 Mountain West All-Newcomer Team
• Boise State features a new look at goalie, with redshirt-sophomore #1 Molly McCabe or true freshman, #0 Ava De Leest
