Idaho State Falls 2–0 at Eastern Washington in Big Sky Road Match

CHENEY, Washington – Idaho State women's soccer battled evenly in the shot column but couldn't find the back of the net in a 0-2 loss at Eastern Washington on Sunday afternoon at Varsity Soccer Field.

The Bengals (3–5–3, 0–1–1 Big Sky) generated 10 shots and five corner kicks but were undone by a first-half penalty and a second-half counterattack. The Eagles (5–4–2, 1–1–0) scored in the 33rd and 67th minutes and earned the clean sheet behind three saves from goalkeeper Kamryn Willoughby.

Despite outshooting Eastern Washington 6–5 in the second half and matching the Eagles 10–10 overall, Idaho State struggled to create high-percentage looks in the final third. The Bengals' best opportunity came in the 76th minute when Lacie Poll fired on frame from the center of the box, forcing a diving save.

Goalkeeper Hannah Wieler recorded three saves and anchored a back line that saw significant rotation throughout the match. Senior midfielder Mary Za led the offensive effort with three total shots, including one on target. Saydree Cooke and Talia Coury each added two shots for the Bengals.

EWU struck first on a penalty kick conversion by Delani Walker in the 33rd minute after a foul in the box. The Eagles doubled their lead in the 67th minute when Chloe Pattison found the net off an assist from Noelle Raczykowski.

Despite the result, Idaho State showed grit late, earning three corner kicks in the final 15 minutes and firing four shots down the stretch.

The loss keeps the Bengals searching for their first Big Sky win of the season.
