POCATELLO, Idaho – Idaho State women's soccer battled Snow College to a 1-1 draw, using a late first-half goal from Lacie Poll to erase an early deficit in a match that saw the Bengals control much of the attacking play throughout the 90 minutes.

Idaho State finished with a commanding 23-9 advantage in shots and generated 11 corner kicks compared to just two for Snow College. The Bengals put six shots on goal, while goalkeeper Aliya Garrett went the full 90 minutes and finished with four saves.

The Bengals wasted little time establishing themselves in the attacking third. Saydree Cooke recorded Idaho State's first attempt just 65 seconds into the match before Parker Sullivan forced Snow goalkeeper Caroline Penrod into a save at the 2:11 mark.

The pressure continued as Lucia Stritzke, Stephanie Roper and Amanda Brayton each put shots on frame during the opening 11 minutes. Through the first 12-plus minutes, Idaho State had already generated nine shots and four corner kicks, consistently putting the Snow defense under pressure.

Despite the Bengals controlling much of the early action, Snow College struck first.

After Garrett stopped an attempt from Kelsie Peterson in the 17th minute, the Badgers broke through at the 17:08 mark when Summer Long found the back of the net off assists from Peterson and Hallie Hansen to give Snow a 1-0 lead.

Idaho State remained on the attack after falling behind and continued to work different combinations into the match. The Bengals' pressure eventually paid off late in the opening half.

After ISU earned three corner kicks over a span of less than three minutes, Samantha Fenske provided a clean setup to Lacie Poll, who finished the opportunity at the 40:26 mark to pull the Bengals even at 1-1.

Fenske's assist provided the finishing touch to a strong attacking sequence, and Poll made the most of the opportunity, putting her lone shot of the match into the back of the net.

Snow nearly answered before halftime, but Garrett stopped Brindee Jones' attempt in the closing minute to send the teams into the break tied at one.

The Bengals continued to create opportunities in the second half. Fenske recorded a shot less than three minutes after the restart before Sullivan and Cooke added attempts in quick succession. Snow countered with another shot on goal from Long in the 59th minute, but Garrett made the save to keep the match level.

Idaho State continued searching for the go-ahead goal throughout the final half hour. Sofia Wolf, Laila Magaña Carter and Sullivan all generated chances before the Bengals made one final push in the closing minutes.

Kellie Christensen sent an attempt high in the 82nd minute, Devree Bell added another shot in the 88th and Brayton recorded ISU's final attempt in the 90th. The Bengals also earned two corner kicks in the final 64 seconds but could not find the deciding goal.

Sullivan led Idaho State's attack with six shots, including two on goal. Brayton and Bell each added three attempts, while Cooke and Magaña Carter finished with two apiece. In total, 10 different Bengals recorded at least one shot.

Defensively, Idaho State settled in following Snow's early goal and kept the Badgers off the board for the final 72-plus minutes. Garrett stopped each of Snow's remaining shots on goal as the Bengals continued pushing for the winner on the other end.

While Idaho State was unable to find the second goal, the Bengals controlled much of the offensive action, more than doubling Snow College in shots and maintaining pressure until the final whistle to earn the 1-1 result.
